So there is a lot to talk about here. First I received this as a gift for Christmas, thanks Jeff, and as an avid golfer it totally made sense. I really wanted to open it for a special occasion and I picked moving into my new house as that. First off it's a single malt whiskey, not a bourbon, so the flavor profile is slightly different. It has a strong oak taste to it which really adds to the flavor of the whiskey. Now due to it being a single malt you're not getting all the flavors you get with a bourbon but, surprisingly, it was never harsh to the throat. I was expecting a 102 proof whiskey to have a little bite to it but this didn't have that. Extremely smooth and tasty. If you have a golfer as a friend this makes a great gift. I've found it around here for about $65 a bottle and it's well worth it.
